Consisting of 2 quitrent receipts, 22 Apr. 1745 and 11 Apr. 1746, paid by Thomas Lamboll, in "Proclamation Money" due to the Crown and to the last of the Lords Proprietors of the Carolinas, Lord Carteret. Receipts include the signature of Geo[rge] Saxby, Receiver General; these annual payments were due on March 25th, Annunciation or "Lady Day" which was a traditional date of settling accounts between landlords and tenants and had once been the first day of the new year under the Julian calendar.
